Why Again?

I thought Pujara would be there in the test series against England....But the luck was not with him....

I told my self then "Don't worry...he will surely be there in the test squad against New Zeland"..... I am once again disappointed as he was left out once again....

What the hell are the selectors thinking?....He has been very unlucky not to be selected even when he is scoring heavily in almost every match...

Pujara should have been selected in place of M Vijay...Dinesh Karthik can open the innings in the absence of one of the regular openers....So I think M Vijay as the reserve opener is not a good choice...

And also Sreesanth in place Munaf Patel should have been the right choice...And the team has only one left arm seamer(Zaheer)...There should have been another left arm bowler...May be RP Singh is the right choice...

Coming to the ODI team, Uthappa would have been a right choice ahead of Dinesh Karthik..

I think its problem of plenty at the moment for Indian team. They have plenty of reserves for them not to call Pujara. But the guy deserves some matches, in the A team perhaps. For M vijay, it will be unfair to drop him with ought giving enough chances. You make interesting point for Uthappa in ODIs for Karthik. I thought Shaha might be a better option, but Uthapa might work as well.

Uthappa has been a consistent performer at the domestic level ever since he was dropped...but he is overlooked all the times...He seriously deserves a spot in the team...

Uthappa cant be in the Test team. Too much competition for it. As far as I can see, he could have been in the ODI's in place of Rohit Sharma. Sharma hasnt done any better than Uthappa. There have been too man ODI middle order/top order batsmen of late. Along with Uthappa we got Kohli and Badrinath. I dont think it will be easy for Uthappa. And if its not for him being a keeper, he doesnt deserves it either, in my humble opinion.

the current selection regime is of the opinion of using specialist in specialist positions which i dont think is bad thing...

thats why they selected m.vijay as third opener....

pujara though unlcky to miss out but they do not want rookie in swinging/seaming conditions expected there hence selected dk who has the experience of tough conditions in SA and England...

they have gone with tried and trusted batters which also is not bad at all...

pujara...badri etc will definitely feature in tests this season...they should not feel disappointed...

SP, "pujara though unlcky to miss out but they do not want rookie in swinging/seaming conditions expected there"... I think the same applies to M Vijay who played just one test in Aus... anyway what we can do now is to hope Pujara will get selected next time...

Pujara is a good prospect and I think he should have been given a chance.
