Deterioration of the spirit of the game

The US$70 million deal between Sri Lanka Cricket and the BCCI(IPL) is a move that is certainly going to kill the spirit of cricket. Sri Lanka is supposed to tour England in Apr-May 2009 where as the second season of IPL is scheduled from April 10 to May 25. As per the above deal, a good number of Sri Lankan players such as Sangakkara, Murali, Jayawardene, has to play in IPL irrespective of their international matches. Many people thought that IPL would inflame commercialization of cricket. It has come true with this deal. However the former Sri Lankan captain Arjuna Ranatunga said that the tour of England will go ahead as per the schedule. But the Sri Lankan players are not happy over Ranatunga's statement. They prefer to play in IPL rather than the England tour. This clearly points out that the players are tending towards earning more money. They are no more looks to be proud to play for their country. Sadly no senior cricketers seem to be concerned about this deal.
C'mon guys...come out of this and play for your country.....be proud to play for your country.

I'm not against IPL or any other leauges...What I'm saying is that there should be a separate window for these leauges so that the players cannot miss the opportunity to play for their respective nations.
