India won that match by 171 runs. That was the third time in the history of cricket that the team following on has won a Test match. Unfortunately, on all three occasions, Australia has been the losing team. India won the next match by 2 wickets. Harbhajan bowled excellently and took 15 wickets in that match. He was awarded the man of the series.
India drew the next series(4 matches) 1-1 in 2003-04. Australia saved the last test in the final day after put up a target of 443. Sachin scored an unbeaten 241 in the first innings. Laxman scored 178 in the first innings. It was Steve Waugh's last test match. Australia won the test series in India in 2003-04 after almost 35 years. It was a 4 match series. Australia won it 2-1.
