Ponting breaks the shackles

Ponting's average in India(19.50) is pretty poor. Out of his 16 innings in India, he was able to cross 20 only twice.
First,in the recent test match of Boder-Gavaskar Trophy 2008 where he scored a century in his first innings. It was also his first test century in India.
Second, in the 2nd test match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 1998 where he scored 60 in his first innings.
Ponting was dismissed by the indian spinners 14 times out of 16 innings in India. Harbhajan got him 6 times, kumble 4 times, Venkatapati Raju 2 times, Murali Karthik and Ashish Kapoor once each. Playing spinners in India has been a problem for him. But the way he played them in the first test when he scored a century is excellent. He broke the shackles with a wonderful century on the first day of the test match. After 12 years of waiting he finally managed to score a century in India. Hope he continues his form and improves his records in India.
